This article explains how to use the Retention Center. Understanding the Retention Center
The Retention Center is a way of keeping track of students who are falling behind in the course.
To access the Retention Center click on your name at the top right of BBLearn
Click on the arrow icon that looks like this.
You will see either a smiley face or an exclamation point next to the course title.
Courses that have a smiley face next to them indicate that all your students are on track for the course.
An exclamation point indicates at least one student is falling behind.
Click on the course with an exclamation point to see the number of students who missed deadlines or have not logged in to your course.
Click See Details, to see more information,
A table will show which students are at risk from falling behind.
Click on the red dot to to display why the student received it.
For a more detailed view of the student’s retention status click on the student’s name.
To notify a student of their risk you can click Notify and then Students.
This will open a Send Notification page where a default e-mail message will appear.
At the bottom of the page is a section that displays your course activity: grading, activity on your journals and discussions, and recent announcements.
Customizing Retention Center
To track a specific student's progress, click the Monitor button.
To add or edit rules click the Customize button.
To edit these rules simply click on the action drop down menu and click Edit.
Rules control which students are considered at risk.
If you want certain rules in your course to not be seen in your Risk Table:
Click on the box next to the rule
Go to Actions button
Click Exclude from Risk Table.
Types of Rules
Course Activity- measures a student’s activity in a course.
A student whose activity is a certain percentage below the class average over so many days triggers this rule.
Grade
Notifies you when a overall grade or specified item grade is below a set value or average of the class.
Course Access
Notifies you when a student hasn’t accessed your course by the number of days specified.
